Leah Vandervliet

Leah is an Accredited Practising Dietitian. She graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2001 and has specialised as a paediatric dietitian. She has extensive experience in paediatric dietetics, working with children of all ages in the public and private setting. She is also involved in training the next generation of dietitians through student supervision, lecturing and mentoring new graduate dietitians.

Leah’s experience is quite diverse, ranging from teaching families about general healthy and balanced eating, to dietary management for children that are overweight, underweight or fussy eaters. Leah is also skilled in the management of children with medical disorders where food is part of their treatment, such as diabetes, allergies, coeliac disease, iron-deficiency and inborn errors of metabolism.

Leah believes children and adolescents are not just little adults and the experience of a trained Paediatric Dietitian is essential to ensure they achieve optimal nutrition.
